Dedicated to Independence, Connection & Joy

Life & Company was founded on a simple truth: growing older should never mean losing your independence, your passion, or your sense of self.

Hi, I’m JULIE

My connection with seniors began long before Life & Company. Their stories, humour, and wisdom inspired me to study Gerontology and Recreation at George Brown College.

For more than 25 years, my career has focused on building trusted relationships, listening, and understanding what matters most to people. My experience as a yoga teacher has also deepened my appreciation for wellness, movement, and staying engaged at every stage of life.

We created Life & Company to help older adults remain independent, active, and connected through trusted companionship and practical, personalized support—whether that means running errands, attending appointments, enjoying favourite activities, or simply having someone dependable by their side.

Our Approach

Life & Company is not a personal care or medical agency. My focus is entirely on lifestyle support, staying active, companionship, and meaningful connection. The everyday things that help older adults continue living life on their own terms.

I see Life & Company as bridging the gap between complete independence and medical or personal care. Sometimes you don’t need a caregiver; you simply need an extra set of hands, a little practical support, or some friendly and trusted company to make life easier, more enjoyable, and more connected.

The goal isn’t to take over; it’s to support independence. To help older adults keep doing the things they enjoy, stay connected to their community, and continue living a full and active life.

My journey …

My connection with seniors began long before Life & Company.

From a young age, I loved spending time with older adults, especially my grandparents. Some of my happiest memories are of listening to their stories, sharing a laugh, and simply enjoying their company. One grandmother loved sewing and knitting, while my other grandmother spoiled us with Dutch treats. One grandfather loved fishing and cheering on the Blue Jays, and my other grandfather ran a nursery business, where he grew poinsettias and wore his Dutch wooden shoes in the family greenhouses.

They left my life far too soon, but the peace, comfort, and security I felt with them stayed with me. They inspired me to study gerontology and begin my career helping seniors remain active, independent, and connected to the people and things they love.

Although my career took me in different directions, that connection never left me. Eventually, it brought me back to where I started and inspired me to create Life & Company.

Through practical support, trusted companionship, and a helping hand with everyday life, I want to help older adults continue enjoying the routines, interests, and independence that make them feel like themselves.

For me, Life & Company feels a little like coming home. It brings together where I began, what has always mattered to me, and the difference I genuinely want to make.
